Anything but Square at Polkadoodles

A brand new challenge at Polkadoodles today and it's quite an easy one for you - Anything but Square.  I haven't really been in the best place to craft this week so my card is a fairly quick one but I'm quite pleased with the result, that's the great thing with these cd's and downloads great results for minimum effort when you need to.
For my card I took a precut card base and popped it through the printer, I then printed out a pre-coloured image, inked the edges and popped that on, I used my Portrait to cut the word and flowers out and arranged them on the card. The bow is a white organza with a satin edge.  as I said fairly simple but I don't think it looks too easy.   I used the Octavia Moonfly download for this card, as everything matches perfectly you can do the whole card, well apart from the ribbon and the little pearl centres to the flowers.

Layer it Up at CD Sunday

Hello my blogland friends, it's time for another challenge over at CD Sunday and this week it's been chosen by Christine who wants us to layer it up.

I have chosen to use a brand new cd by Polkadoodles which is called Twiggy and Toots, it's a gorgeous cd full of Owls but not your average owls these are some of the cutest I've seen and I've enjoyed using them but funnily enough they are not making an appearance in this creation. I wanted to make an easel card but also a box so this is what I came up with.
I made the easel card by fastening the shaped card to a piece of paper and printing it via the rear feed on my printer twice, I then printed an A4 sheet in the same design which I used as the top and bottom of the box.The topper is one of the journal ones printed straight from the cd but I then printed and cut out the word friends and some flowers which are a bit difficult to see but I've used them a the stopper. Because I did the cutting on my Portrait I also did a plain white backing slightly larger to give it some definition. There are pearls in strips and small pearl flowers and butterflies and even a small bird cage added into the mix and if you look carefully you may see a small owl peeking out too.

I used a button for the draw front but didn't like it so used a sparkler which was just the right size over the top to act as the puller.

I loved making this and will be doing a few more for gifts very soon, I may even use the same cd as there are lots of bits I can use without repeating the same thing.

Also don't forget we are still running the Purple Crazy challenge in honour of our team mate Wendy and the list of prizes is well worth a look at, please join us we want to make this a special one for her.

I'm entering this into the following challenges
Art by Miran - Anything Goes

Pink and Pretty at Polkadoodles

Our current challenge over at Polkadoodles is Pink and Pretty, so I decided to make a gift bag from a cheapo lunch bag. I bought a pack of ten bags for .89p so my next lot of gift bags will be personal and very cost effective.

I used the Work and Play 9 - Love and Kisses collection and did a bit of print and cut on my Silhouette for the pretty girl and the flowers, the die cut is a Spellbinders, of course I've used a little lace and ribbon and voila the bag is transformed.

I am entering this into the following challenges
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
(Pin)Inspirational - Anything Goes
Sweet Stamps - Pink
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Purple Crazy at CD Sunday

Hello all, we are having a very special month long challenge that is going to run alongside our normal challenges as a special tribute to Wendy who sadly lost her battle with various illnesses not long after she left our team when she was no longer able to keep herself involved.

A lot of you may have known Wendy by her crafty name of Purple Crazy so what else could we have chosen as a theme in her honour, so this month we want you to join us and produce us something with purple included.

For my card I have used Octavia from Polkadoodles and a backing paper from the beautiful Rosebud cd.  As you can see I've used some beautiful lace which is rapidly becoming something I can't live without, I've used several dies including Tattered Lace and Sue Wilson.  Octavia was coloured using Copics and Graph'it's.

There is going to be a prize up for grabs for this challenge and Nikky from Polkadoodles has offered a full download of Work and Play 9 - Love and Kisses and I have another of her cd's Double Sprinkles of Kraft to add to it and a projects and techniques cd from Ali Reeve, Carol has very kindly donated three stamp sets from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse and Gruffies range and another cd from La Pashe so I'm sure you will want to be in with a chance of winning that little lot.

Don't forget our normal fortnightly challenge is still running so here is the link to the current Clean and Simple challenge.

Challenges entered
Fun with shapes and more - birthdays
Graph'it markers - Flower Power
Jo's Scrap Shack - Florals and butterflies
Sister Act - Anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Use die cuts
Digi Choosday - Use a Die

Clean and Simple with CD Sunday

Good morning all, where does time go? I almost forgot it was my turn to choose a theme for our challenge over at CD Sunday, I chose Clean and Simple because for me it is a challenge to do these kind of cards when using a cd.
For my card I have used one of Polkadoodles new cd's, this one is called Eden and it's stunning!  I do hope you can join us this time I love to visit your blogs and see what you create.

Digi Choosday - Oval/Easter

Hello, nice to see you. Over at Digi Choosday this week there is a new challenge which is Ovals/Easter. I have used a pretty cd this time which is Cherryblossom Lane and it's full of rabbits and although I haven't made an Easter card there are plenty of things on there which would work.

I've made a get well card, I opened up Craft Artist and imported some files in from the cd, I printed out one of the backgrounds and then cut a couple of stips, I added some lovely lace to each piece and then went back to Craft Artist to build my picture, I used a frame from one of my other kits and then put one of the scenes inside it, played around until I had the bit I wanted to show and then put the rabbit couple into the scene. I added some of the flowers around the outside of the frame again playing until I'd got them in the order I wanted.  I saved the individual elements and placed them onto an A4 page ready to be exported and brought into my Silhouette to do a print and cut, almost like ready made decoupage. I am glad I've now got the hang of how to get the images to trace well, giving a good cut first time.
As the colours are soft and pastel I've really struggled to get a good picture because of the light, if I used my daylight lamp then the colours looked too washed out so hopefully you will get the idea.  I used some ribbon to make a double bow and then added a sparkler on to finish it off.

I'm entering this into the following
Digi Choosday - Ovals/Easter
Through the Craft Room door - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Spring colour
