A cup of tea

I've been playing with the new Lavender Tea Digi collection and just love the way Nikky has put this together for us. I was looking at the templates and will be doing some of them to make a little display but thought that maybe I would enjoy making a card out of one or two, so I printed the teapot template onto the back of one of the papers and then reduced the cup size so it looked like it was the right size for a teacup in comparison to the teapot. I then printed this onto a different paper and cut everything out.

I have used a Tonic dye for the mat, which I cut twice, once as a solid piece and then again using the lattice die. I filled a page with flowers and printed them out I have only used a few of them but the others will be put away to use later.
I added a line around the rim and bottom of the cup with a sparkly gel pen just to give a bit of definition and a bit of lace across the middle of the card although you can barely see it!  I love the cd's but have also got one set of the stamps and if I run out of ideas the digis in the collection will give me a kick start.

Cream and Sugar with the Polkadoodle gang

Good morning, it's that time again and we have a lovely new challenge for you over at Polkadoodles. This time it's Cream and Sugar so what better collection to use than Winnie Sugar Sprinkles?

I bought this chipboard plaque for £1 and used an Antique Pink paint from Pebeo but it was a bit too bright so I went over it with a light brushing of Gesso. Once that was finished I used a stencil and sprayed with a Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Cherub Pink, you can just about see some of the sparkle but not the pattern in the photo.  I used a couple of backing papers from the Winston collection and the rest came from Winnie.

Spring Colours with Polkadoodles

Hello! I'm here with another inspiration post for the current challenge over at Polkadoodles, this time it's spring colours and it's so good to see the bright and pretty shades after winter. I love all the spring flowers that are popping up now and making everywhere look less bleak.

Anyway, I used the lovely Winnie Sugar Sprinkles for my latest card, I saw a die being shown on one of the craft channels and thought as it was not intricate I could cut something similar on my Cameo so even though I am not someone who designs on the machine I could manage a few squares.

This is the outer of the card and as you can see it is cut to form a couple of flaps, this is stuck down on toop of the backing paper around the outside edge. I ran a bit of ribbon across the bottom layer and also on the top layer to define them.  I then added an image and some embellishments underneath as in the second picture.
The card is a 6x6 and I added a few gems in two of the corners, a butterfly and the flower with the word Hi! inside so it will be fine for any occasion.

So Sweet

I have just bought a new collection from Polkadoodles called Winnie Sugar Sprinkles, it's a very pretty collection full of sweet images and pretty colours.
I bought the download so I could get to use it right away and found that there are eleven design sheets on here, now I love using the design sheets as it makes life so easy as everything is already to go and that makes the matching up so much easier.  I also printed one of the papers and that took me an age to decided which one but thought that the one I used worked really well.
The card is a 7.5inch square and I folded the front back so I only needed to use one A4 sheet of backing paper. I added some lace and pearls and one die cut but everything else is from the design sheet.
