Use a Die with Polkadoodles

Hello and Happy Friday to you all, hopefully the awful weather we have been promised doesn't happen or I'll be locked away all weekend!

This week over on the Polkadoodles blog we have a brand new challenge for you, Use a Die. Most of us use a die of some sort in our creations so I'm sure you'll be able to join in with us.

For my card I've used one of the earlier collections, with so many wonderful things appearing every day it's so easy to forget the stash we already own so I'm on a mission to use my stash and not leave it neglected but if you haven't seen this one please check it out as it's super cute.
This is an 8x8 card and I built the design in Craft Artist, that's the beauty of Nikky's cd's and downloads they are png files so are so easy to work with in CA without having to use the cut out studio.  I used a background and then found a fence, the fence wasn't a long one but I flipped it a couple of times so that it matched and made a full length one, I then put the bunny image with her washing onto the page and sized it to fit.
I copied the image a couple of times and printed them on an extra piece of paper,  I added a few flowers and some bunting then printed everything, I could have been really lazy and cut out with my Cameo but decided to sit and do a bit of fussy cutting. I layered everything up and then cut my die cut sentiment to pop into the middle.

I'm entering this into the following challenges;
Fresh Brewed Designs - Bunnies
Whimsy Stamps - Use a Die
Crafting with an attitude - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - Use a Sentiment

A Sentiment with CD Sunday

Good Sunday morning to you all, another two weeks have passed us by and it's time for a new challenge over on CD Sunday. Thank you for joining us again and check out who has won the top three for Everything Stops for Tea which was Jocelyn's choice.

This time it's a fairly simple one or at least it seems to be but who knows what everyone finds easy? Carol has chosen to use a sentiment and most of us put some sort of sentiment on our cards and not just happy birthday.

For my card this week I used the new cd from Polkadoodles called Eden, there are some stunning images on this cd but I chose to use something from the journal files in the collection.  If you have something like Serif or MCS then you could build this topper yourself but let's be honest there are some days when you need to be getting on with the card not playing in the software programme.  I used some lace that I now find is in an ever expanding pile in my craft room, I don't remember ordering all this so it must just be multiplying. I have used a tattered lace die for the foliage but everything else is from the cd.  I've had great fun making this and I have decorated the inside with the same paper and a sentiment from the cd.

I'm entering this into the following challenges
Crafts 4 eternity - Pastel Shades
Brown sugar - Anything goes
Really reasonable Ribbon - Bright Spring Colours with ribbon or trim
That's Crafty - Wings and things

Birthdays at Polkadoodles

Good morning all, it's time for another little bit of inspiration over at Polkadoodles Challenge, this fortnight it's Birthday's so no excuse to miss this one and as ever there are prizes up for grabs.

For my card I used an older cd called Double Sprinkles of Kraft and there are some lovely images and papers on there so well worth another visit.

I used a pre-coloured image but of course there are the black and white ones so you can do your own, The backing paper has little stitch lines but I took it into Serif and only ended up with a couple of lines as I expanded the page.  I used some ready made flowers but only because I was in a hurry and my sentiment was done using the alphabet and there is a choice of two on this cd.

I'm entering this into the following challenges
C.R.A.F.T - Mothers Day/Female
Aud Sentiments - Two word Sentiment (Hopefully 40 will be classed as a word)
Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes with Ribbon
Scrap and Craft - Flowers

Anything but square with Digi Choosday

I have been playing a little with my new collections and this is a card I made this evening while trying to ignore the tv.

I don't usually buy shaped cards as I prefer to do my own but I got these a few years ago from Kanban and they are useful to use as they are good quality card.

I printed the image off and couldn't make up my mind if I should use pens or pencils so on this occasion I used both, a mixture of Copics and Graph it's and Spectrum Noir pencils, I printed the backing paper and stuck it down onto the card before trimming it to the shape of the card, I did slip with my knife a little hence the glitter all the way around. I've added a few die cuts and flowers and I'm done but I although a fairly simple card I'm quite pleased with it.

I'm entering this into the following
Digi Choosday - Anything but Square
Crafty Sentiments - Bright Colours
2 cute Ink - Glitter
Sparkle N Sparkle - Loose Glitter

Octavia Moonfly Rose

I've been trying to get things done but have ended up with very little to show for it but today I finally managed to get this card done.

This is Octavia from Polkadoodles, I have the collection but you can just buy the digi if that's all you want and she comes pre-coloured or as an outline for you to do yourself. I have used the pre-coloured one this time but will have my pens and pencils out soon to see how well I can colour her myself.

I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to do and nothing seemed to work until I took a small piece of left over embossed card and everything seem to fall into place.  I used my silhouette to cut the flowers and butterflies out, it does save so much time but it makes me lazy too.

I'm entering thisinto the following challenges
Allsorts Challenge - Flowers and Pearls
Scribble and Scrap - Always Anything Goes
Fairytale Stampers - Anything Goes
Dragonfly Dreams - Add some Embellishments

Another stunner from Polkadoodles

I had promised myself I wouldn't buy anything else this month but couldn't resist the newest cd/download from Polkadoodles. This collection has lots in it and it didn't take me long to cave in and buy it.
The beauty of this collection is if you're in a hurry there are coloured images but if you want to while away a bit of time then there are digis too. I have used Graph'its, Copics and Spectrum Noir pencils on this little lady, the lace motif is also coloured with a copic to match as it was white originally. The flowers are stamped with Heartfelt Creations Sunkissed Fleur and the centres coloured with a pencil then sprayed with glue and glittered.

I'm entering this into the following challenges
Digi Galore - It's all about her
Craft for the Craic - Bingo
Cute card Thursday - Dies and punches

Shabby Chic at CD Sunday

Hello again, these weeks seem to come around far too quickly and here we are with another challenge from CD Sunday, this time chosen by Sue who has decided we need a bit of Shabby Chic in our lives.

I decided to use one of the MCS discs for my card, I've had it for ages and only used it once or twice so found just the thing I needed and quite enjoyed using the programme again.
Now I have to be honest and say I'm never sure what Shabby Chic is but maybe I've got it with this one.  I've used my craft knife along the edges of all the mats and for the top layer I've put some glitter on. The lace has made an appearance again and this time I've used a full piece then cut another piece in half, one half I've put along the edge of the card but the other piece has made the flower which is finished off with a pearl.  I'm thinking this may be a good card for my mum on mothers day, so I may add a sentiment later.

I'm entering this into the following challenges
Hiding in my craft room- Freestyle
Fussy and Fancy - Ribbons and Lace
Sister Act - Anything Goes
