Just a bit of stamping

Well hello, I haven't posted on here for about 6 months, basically I haven't been doing a lot of crafting so not a lot to show you.

I made this for a friends birthday, I bought some stamps by Prima from Amazon and had to wait for ages for them to arrive as they came from USA, I love these script type stamps and these are huge! I have to be honest and say I was just trying the stamps out but then didn't want to waste the background I had created.  The die cuts are from a Tattered Lace die and the girl is La Blanche which I have had for years. I used brown memento ink to stamp and Weathered Wood distress ink to colour the edges of the paper and the die cuts.  I used some flowers which I bought from Anna at the Craft Box, the leaves were white and I used the same distress ink to take away the starkness and blend them in with the project.

I do hope to get my act together and start posting again, hope you like this offering.

No images or photo's at CD Sunday

Hello all, I've been missing for a while but really needed to get on with other things and funnily enough didn't miss my crafting. Maybe my mojo was just on holiday!

Anyway today I am sharing a project made from an MDF butterfly, I have had this for ages and I am sure you can all relate to having something that you want to do but other things get done and that one thing just sits and looks at you accusingly, well these butterfly pieces were like that, they came in a set of various sizes and have been begging me to use them so here is my starter piece.

I used a paper from the Polkadoodles cd Lavender Tea, I then used a stampendous text stamp over the top and went around the edge with Treasure Gold.  I then played around with different bits and pieces until I got a look I liked,  There seemed to be something missing so I found a sentiment from another Polkadoodles cd but this time it was Twiggy and Toots, the sentiment was actually a ticket but it was a tad on the large side so I cut it down and edged that with the Treasure Gold.
This is a perfect size to have at the caravan as it is big enough to be seen but not overpower the small space.
I love some of the embellishments and they mostly came from the Craft Box, Anna fills these boxes with lots of delightful things and they just make you want to create something, but sometimes it's just good to open them up and look at all the loveliness inside.

More Birthday celebrations

Hello everyone, it's my turn to use a digi that has been put together by one of my team mates, to carry on with the celebrations for the Polkadoodles 7th birthday.

As this anniversary is normally called the "7 year itch", the Polka Doodles team have embraced the prickly feeling by scratching that itch and mixing/scratching up some new images ... get the pun? Corny we know but the team have had great fun. So to embrace the “itchy scratch” the Polka Doodles team have thrown caution to the wind and “scratched up” a different kind of birthday celebration.
The birthday celebrations will be running for 2 weeks and each day someone from the Polka Doodles team will be sharing their “mixed/scratched up” image. It’s been all hush hush and secret squirrel too as no one knows who has been busy creating what and when they will be revealing their image... so the Polka Doodles team get to join in the fun too. To add an extra layer of itchy fun, everyone has also been colouring up the new “scratched/mixed up” images, (still not knowing who designed them) and they will be sharing via their blogs and on FaceBook.
We really have scratched things up ... new merged images, no one knows who created what and no one knows when they’ll be sharing them ...!
Please do take the opportunity to visit the Polka Doodles team and see their new digi images because you will find a discount code (or two) along your way that you can use in the Polka Doodles shop.

For my card I have been given a great image made up from one of the older cd's Not for Girls and from the Work and Play Collection 8.

Image 1

I printed the image out and cut it out, coloured with Graph'it markers and then had to decide what to do with it, well I took some papers and the stars into Craft Artist and recoloured to the colour I needed. Printed them onto Text and Graphic paper and then just cut to size and matted onto black card, the stars weren't exactly as I wanted so I coloured the red ones with the same pen as I used on the guitar  but then painted all of them with some pearlised paint.

I hope you can find out who put the image together and when you do you may just find a code on their blog for a great discount at the Polkadoodles store.

I used an image from Twiggy and Toots and merged it with the shop from
Dollie Daydreams Girl Talk Collection which I coloured with my Lyra pencils
and the background I did colour wash with water colours.
The sentiment is from one of the new soup cd's Magic Garden, the little die cuts
behind the image are Tattered Lace and they are cut from some old business cards
I was given, they are a perfect size and once coloured or painted blend in perfectly.

Birthday Celebrations at Polkadoodles

Good morning everyone, it's right in the middle of the birthday celebrations at Polkadoodles so what better challenge than Birthday Celebrations so you can join in the fun!

For my card I've used Lily Love Bug, this time I have used the image of her sitting on the heart. I thought it was a good one as we all love our Polkadoodles images.

I have used a sketch for the design of the card and think all the beautiful papers work so well together, please come over to both the blog challenge and the pages on Facebook as there are lots of things going on and offers and prizes around too.

Things with Wings at Polkadoodles

Good morning my friends, I'm here with my inspiration post for our current challenge which is Things With Wings.  I have used Lily Love bug for my card, I have had this collection for a while but never got around to using it, I don't know why apart from not being able to do much of any crafting recently.

I added the collection to Craft Artist to make the selection and sizing of the items so much easier, I chose the images I wanted to use and then printed them ready for cutting.  My Cameo isn't connected to the pc at the moment so I had to cut everything out by hand but that was quite relaxing, I built up the picture and layered everything up with both Collall all purpose glue and Pinflair gel.

Onc I had finalised the layout I decided it needed just a little something extra and then I remembered I had those new Tattered Lace tuck in dies so cut a couple of the hearts and they were just enough to finish it off.  Although you can't see it in the picture I have used a glitter pen over parts of the card.

I hope you will come over and join in with us and don't forget there are prizes and you could win a feather in your cap if you use a Polkadoodles image.

Swirls and flourishes with Polkadoodles

Hello again I'm here with a new card for the latest challenge at Polkadoodles which is Swirls and Flourishes this time.

I decided to use the lovely Winnie Sugar Sprinkles and make a fairly simple card.  I used one of the pre-coloured images which I cut out with a small white edge, I used some Pinflair gel to raise it up a little.  The backing paper is one of my favourites from the collection, I have used it a few times and this time I have edged it with distress ink. I had a small piece of another paper from the same collection so cut a couple of swirls from a Tattered Lace die, it doesn't really show well but they sit at the same angle of the lines of the pattern.  I used a sentiment from the collection, added some lace and pale pink gems and a very nice brass bird in a cage...
