No images or photo's at CD Sunday

Hello all, I've been missing for a while but really needed to get on with other things and funnily enough didn't miss my crafting. Maybe my mojo was just on holiday!

Anyway today I am sharing a project made from an MDF butterfly, I have had this for ages and I am sure you can all relate to having something that you want to do but other things get done and that one thing just sits and looks at you accusingly, well these butterfly pieces were like that, they came in a set of various sizes and have been begging me to use them so here is my starter piece.

I used a paper from the Polkadoodles cd Lavender Tea, I then used a stampendous text stamp over the top and went around the edge with Treasure Gold.  I then played around with different bits and pieces until I got a look I liked,  There seemed to be something missing so I found a sentiment from another Polkadoodles cd but this time it was Twiggy and Toots, the sentiment was actually a ticket but it was a tad on the large side so I cut it down and edged that with the Treasure Gold.
This is a perfect size to have at the caravan as it is big enough to be seen but not overpower the small space.
I love some of the embellishments and they mostly came from the Craft Box, Anna fills these boxes with lots of delightful things and they just make you want to create something, but sometimes it's just good to open them up and look at all the loveliness inside.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

More Birthday celebrations

Hello everyone, it's my turn to use a digi that has been put together by one of my team mates, to carry on with the celebrations for the Polkadoodles 7th birthday.

As this anniversary is normally called the "7 year itch", the Polka Doodles team have embraced the prickly feeling by scratching that itch and mixing/scratching up some new images ... get the pun? Corny we know but the team have had great fun. So to embrace the “itchy scratch” the Polka Doodles team have thrown caution to the wind and “scratched up” a different kind of birthday celebration.
The birthday celebrations will be running for 2 weeks and each day someone from the Polka Doodles team will be sharing their “mixed/scratched up” image. It’s been all hush hush and secret squirrel too as no one knows who has been busy creating what and when they will be revealing their image... so the Polka Doodles team get to join in the fun too. To add an extra layer of itchy fun, everyone has also been colouring up the new “scratched/mixed up” images, (still not knowing who designed them) and they will be sharing via their blogs and on FaceBook.
We really have scratched things up ... new merged images, no one knows who created what and no one knows when they’ll be sharing them ...!
Please do take the opportunity to visit the Polka Doodles team and see their new digi images because you will find a discount code (or two) along your way that you can use in the Polka Doodles shop.

For my card I have been given a great image made up from one of the older cd's Not for Girls and from the Work and Play Collection 8.

Image 1

I printed the image out and cut it out, coloured with Graph'it markers and then had to decide what to do with it, well I took some papers and the stars into Craft Artist and recoloured to the colour I needed. Printed them onto Text and Graphic paper and then just cut to size and matted onto black card, the stars weren't exactly as I wanted so I coloured the red ones with the same pen as I used on the guitar  but then painted all of them with some pearlised paint.

I hope you can find out who put the image together and when you do you may just find a code on their blog for a great discount at the Polkadoodles store.

Birthday Celebrations at Polkadoodles

Good morning everyone, it's right in the middle of the birthday celebrations at Polkadoodles so what better challenge than Birthday Celebrations so you can join in the fun!

For my card I've used Lily Love Bug, this time I have used the image of her sitting on the heart. I thought it was a good one as we all love our Polkadoodles images.

I have used a sketch for the design of the card and think all the beautiful papers work so well together, please come over to both the blog challenge and the pages on Facebook as there are lots of things going on and offers and prizes around too.

Things with Wings at Polkadoodles

Good morning my friends, I'm here with my inspiration post for our current challenge which is Things With Wings.  I have used Lily Love bug for my card, I have had this collection for a while but never got around to using it, I don't know why apart from not being able to do much of any crafting recently.

I added the collection to Craft Artist to make the selection and sizing of the items so much easier, I chose the images I wanted to use and then printed them ready for cutting.  My Cameo isn't connected to the pc at the moment so I had to cut everything out by hand but that was quite relaxing, I built up the picture and layered everything up with both Collall all purpose glue and Pinflair gel.

Onc I had finalised the layout I decided it needed just a little something extra and then I remembered I had those new Tattered Lace tuck in dies so cut a couple of the hearts and they were just enough to finish it off.  Although you can't see it in the picture I have used a glitter pen over parts of the card.

I hope you will come over and join in with us and don't forget there are prizes and you could win a feather in your cap if you use a Polkadoodles image.

Swirls and flourishes with Polkadoodles

Hello again I'm here with a new card for the latest challenge at Polkadoodles which is Swirls and Flourishes this time.

I decided to use the lovely Winnie Sugar Sprinkles and make a fairly simple card.  I used one of the pre-coloured images which I cut out with a small white edge, I used some Pinflair gel to raise it up a little.  The backing paper is one of my favourites from the collection, I have used it a few times and this time I have edged it with distress ink. I had a small piece of another paper from the same collection so cut a couple of swirls from a Tattered Lace die, it doesn't really show well but they sit at the same angle of the lines of the pattern.  I used a sentiment from the collection, added some lace and pale pink gems and a very nice brass bird in a cage...

Happy Birthday CD Sunday

April 18th is the 6th birthday for CD Sunday and their challenge is so easy it would be rude not to enter. What they want you do is to link to a previous card made for CD Sunday so as I was on the original DT I thought I'd share the 1st card that I made.  It isn't one of my best and I probably wouldn't make something like this now but it just seemed fitting.
The team are offering a great prize so why not join in, if you haven't entered before you can still join in by linking back to something you've made previously as long as it has something from a cd included.
Sorry forgot to say the cd was Victorian Companion from Joanna Sheen which I believe is no longer available.

Floral Frenzy at Polkadoodles

Hello there, I'm here with another post for the challenge over at Polkadoodles. This week it's the second half of our challenge called Floral Frenzy, and believe me there are so many things on the collections from Nikky that we are spoiled for choice! I decided to use the delicious Lemonade Fizz and used one of the great templates which makes it so easy to make something a little bit different.
I printed out a couple of the papers and then printed out the template onto the back of the paper and because I'm in the middle of a change around in my craft room I couldn't use my Cameo so cut everything out by hand.  I used Craft Artist to make up a page of flowers, bees and a butterfly and now ave some extra's saved for my next project.

As usual there are prizes to be won and we now also have a little something extra, if you use a Polkadoodles image to enter then you could win a feather in your cap!  This is an extra bit of fun for you to join in with and there will be a league table for those of you who want to collect the feathers, do pop over and check this out.

A cup of tea

I've been playing with the new Lavender Tea Digi collection and just love the way Nikky has put this together for us. I was looking at the templates and will be doing some of them to make a little display but thought that maybe I would enjoy making a card out of one or two, so I printed the teapot template onto the back of one of the papers and then reduced the cup size so it looked like it was the right size for a teacup in comparison to the teapot. I then printed this onto a different paper and cut everything out.

I have used a Tonic dye for the mat, which I cut twice, once as a solid piece and then again using the lattice die. I filled a page with flowers and printed them out I have only used a few of them but the others will be put away to use later.
I added a line around the rim and bottom of the cup with a sparkly gel pen just to give a bit of definition and a bit of lace across the middle of the card although you can barely see it!  I love the cd's but have also got one set of the stamps and if I run out of ideas the digis in the collection will give me a kick start.

Cream and Sugar with the Polkadoodle gang

Good morning, it's that time again and we have a lovely new challenge for you over at Polkadoodles. This time it's Cream and Sugar so what better collection to use than Winnie Sugar Sprinkles?

I bought this chipboard plaque for £1 and used an Antique Pink paint from Pebeo but it was a bit too bright so I went over it with a light brushing of Gesso. Once that was finished I used a stencil and sprayed with a Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Cherub Pink, you can just about see some of the sparkle but not the pattern in the photo.  I used a couple of backing papers from the Winston collection and the rest came from Winnie.

Spring Colours with Polkadoodles

Hello! I'm here with another inspiration post for the current challenge over at Polkadoodles, this time it's spring colours and it's so good to see the bright and pretty shades after winter. I love all the spring flowers that are popping up now and making everywhere look less bleak.

Anyway, I used the lovely Winnie Sugar Sprinkles for my latest card, I saw a die being shown on one of the craft channels and thought as it was not intricate I could cut something similar on my Cameo so even though I am not someone who designs on the machine I could manage a few squares.

This is the outer of the card and as you can see it is cut to form a couple of flaps, this is stuck down on toop of the backing paper around the outside edge. I ran a bit of ribbon across the bottom layer and also on the top layer to define them.  I then added an image and some embellishments underneath as in the second picture.
The card is a 6x6 and I added a few gems in two of the corners, a butterfly and the flower with the word Hi! inside so it will be fine for any occasion.

So Sweet

I have just bought a new collection from Polkadoodles called Winnie Sugar Sprinkles, it's a very pretty collection full of sweet images and pretty colours.
I bought the download so I could get to use it right away and found that there are eleven design sheets on here, now I love using the design sheets as it makes life so easy as everything is already to go and that makes the matching up so much easier.  I also printed one of the papers and that took me an age to decided which one but thought that the one I used worked really well.
The card is a 7.5inch square and I folded the front back so I only needed to use one A4 sheet of backing paper. I added some lace and pearls and one die cut but everything else is from the design sheet.

I am entering this into the following challenges;
Hiding in My Craft Room - Spring Colours

Tic Tac Toe with Polkadoodles

Good morning, it's a new challenge over at Polkadoodles and this week it's Tic Tac Toe.  I couldn't make my mind up at first which three things to use but when I started playing it all just fell into place.

This is the grid I worked from and my choice was Sentiment, Lace and Flower, I used all left over things from previous projects and even the card base is made from the off cut of another card with the same fold. The topper is from one of the design sheets which I popped onto a circular mat which I had added a bit of distress ink to while it was still in the die. The papers usually end up being put away, getting creased and then thrown away so I decided to use them and even the very small pieces were used to cut out the flowers, the lace is an off cut from a piece bought from Brenda on Facebook and is small enough to fit in with the size of the card which is only 90cm x 140cm.
