Flower Power with Polkadoodles

Hello there! We're starting a new challenge off on Polkadoodles today and we are using Flower Power.  Oh so many things I could have used for this one but I decided to use the Dollie goes East cd but there are lots of digi's available with this collection so if you just fancy dipping your toe in with this style from Nikky then go over and have a look, I love them.

I like to get value from my cd's and believe you should be able to make a complete card if you want to or if you are just starting out and don't have the tons of stash long term crafters accumulate.  This card is made using two sheets of paper, some glue and some glitter, I'm guessing most of us can stretch to that!

I opened my graphics package and resized the backing paper down to 5.5 inch square so I could get two onto one sheet of paper,  I then used another sheet to print the topper and a couple of other things for use later.

I cut out the flowers from the top and bottom of one sheet, really easy to cut too.  I put some glue onto the flowers, let it dry a little then sprinkled glitter over, it looks a bit heavy in the picture but it's just really sparkly, I guess the camera doesn't like glitter.  I haven't added a sentiment but once I have decided who's going to get the card I can do it then,
I'm entering this into the following;
1. 4 Crafty Chicks - anything goes
2 Southern girls - Sparkle and Shine
3. Decorate to celebrate - 3D
4. Penny's Challenges - Anything goes

Case it with Polka Doodles

Hello there, how you doin?  We've got a great challenge over on the Polkadoodles page and it involves casing someone else's card.  For us it is a team members card but you can choose anyone's even one of your own, we don't want you to copy but use the other card as inspiration for your design.

For my card I chose Lou's design from May last year, she has done a circle card with circular embellishments and this what I have used as my inspiration.

You can find Lou's card here

Now for my card I've used the brand new Work and Play collection 9 - Love and Kisses, this is such a pretty collection and perfect for all the cards you need for weddings, engagments, perfect for valentines and there are even some things that are perfect for birthdays, as usual Nikky has given us far more than we need to make stunning cards and gifts.

I'm entering this into;
1. Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
2. Sweet 7 Designs - Anything New
3. Tip Top Tuesday - Something New
4. Crafting From the Heart - As Always Anything Goes
5. Craft Your Passion - Always Anything Goes

Animal Antics at CD Sunday

Good morning from a cold and blowy Wigan, perfect weather for crafting if you can. I have had to use a new blog because my old one has a problem and not many people can get past a pop up that keeps diverting to another advert page. So here I am starting again and hopefully my old friends will be able to find me!

This week over at CD Sunday it is my turn to choose a theme to challenge you all and I have chosen Animal Antics, so I hear you ask why have you used an owl but I have taken a bit of a liberty and added birds into the mix but at least it gives you a bit more scope with your makes!
For my card I have used the MCS cd Quintessential Country Garden, it's got some very pretty things on here and I love owls so thought I'd use one of the toppers to make my card. The backing paper is from the same cd and I have put it though an embossing folder to give it a bit of texture, I bought some very pretty lace recently and sometimes I look at it but don't want to use it but it's not irreplaceable so I've put some on this card.  The little frame around the topper is a spellbinders one called Fleur De Lis Squares which is quite pretty but most of it is covered up with the topper.  The flowers come from Wild Orchid and the other dies are Tattered Lace.

I hope you can join us and as usual the top three winner will get a little something in the post so it is worth having a go.
