18th Birthday

I was asked to make a card for a friends niece as she is turning 18 later this month. I wasn't given anything to go on about what she likes or doesn't so had to second guess what would be suitable so of course I turned to my trusty Polkadoodles digi's.

This digi is called Serenity Princess and I've coloured her with a mixture of Copic and Graph'it pens, the backing paper is from the Serenity collection and I used a sheet of glitter card to die cut the panel and I used the bits out of the panel for the diamonds on the edges. I stamped and die cut the flower and with a bit of the glitter card that was left over to cut a couple of swirls.

Use Something New with Polkadoodles

Good morning to you all, it's Friday and time for a new challenge over at Polkadoodles.  This week we have the theme of Use Something New, so if you're anything like me then you won't have a problem as we are always buying things aren't we even if it's only a bit of ribbon or lace or a new stamp, I think you get the idea.

For my project I decided to combine my Cameo with the fabulous new cd/download from Polkadoodles - Twiggy and Toots Festive Fun.  There is so much in this collection we are really spoilt for choice but I decided to leave Twiggy and Toots in the tree and I've used one of the digi's because I was really taken with him and he's perfect for an unfussy boys card, this is a perfect image for just a bit of glitter which I used on his nose so it's all red and sparkly.

I used the Cameo to cut out the card blank and the pretty paper, I did take another picture showing how the card stands when opened but it was a bit blurred so I'll try to get another done for you.

More than one fold with Polkadoodles

Good morning to you my lovely blogging friends, we have a fab challenge of more than one fold, going on over at Polkadoodles and I'm here with my make as a bit of inspiration for you.

Recently I went over to Summer Crafting and did the workshop, one of the makes was something I haven't done for years and I thought it would be good to either remind you of this style of card or even give you an idea if you haven't seen it before.
For this card I printed a couple of backing papers from the Octavia Collection but if you were being really frugal you could just use one card and print both sides, the card is folded into four, and one side of the short fold cut into the middle.  I was going to take pictures as I did this just in case you wanted to see it step by step but I can always do that again if anyone wants me to.
The picture above is the card complete with tags but I have taken a couple more so you can have a proper look.
This picture shows the card without the tags in and as you can see where the card is folded it makes little pockets. I've added some lace and a couple of extra embellishments so it looks quite pretty.

This is a picture of the two tags I've put into the card, the digi is Octavia Moonfly Wistful and is also available on it's own if you can't quite stretch to the full collection.  I used my Graph'it Markers to colour her then I went around the edge of both the tags with a pale blue then added some glitter.

I am entering this into the following challenges;

In the Pink - Anything goes in Pink!
Doodle Pantry - Anything Goes

A new challenge at Polkadoodles - Use two or more patterned papers

Good morning all, I'm back today with a new card for the latest challenge over at Polkadoodles. This time the challenge is to use two or more patterned papers so I did this.
The papers come from Dollie goes East and the picture is Serenity Blossom which is available as part of the collection which I have or if you just want the image then she is also available on her own.

I used a 7x5 card and covered the back with one of the papers from Dollie, I then cut a smaller piece to which I added a ribbon and distressed the edges.  I cut the image out of a die and then used a black pen to draw a squiggly line around the edge.  I added a few flowers and she is done, oh yes the sentiment also came from the Dollie cd.

I am entering this into the following challenges
Card Mania - Anything goes
Cards Galore - Use a stamp or digi
Crafting Musketeers - Anything Goes
Digi Galore - Summery/Bright

Use an old collection - Digi Choosday

Good morning, today I'm sharing a card I've made for the newest challenge over on Digi Choosday which this time is Use an Old Collection.  I have to admit that the first one I thought about was Dollie goes East as I really like the colours and the images on this collection so that is what I went with.

I left it a bit late to make a start on this so I used a pre-coloured image, I cut her out and placed her onto the card halfway onto the two die cut papers. The sentiments are great on this cd and some are in an oriental font but I liked this one a bit better for the person who will be getting this card.

I hope you will pop over to see what everyone else has done and join in as there are prizes every week!

Use a stamped image with CD Sunday

Good morning all, it's time for a new challenge at CD Sunday and this time it's Christine who has chosen the topic of Use a Stamped Image.

Now before I get onto my card for the challenge I need to tell you that this will be my last post as a CD Sunday DT member, I was in as a founder member of the challenge blog and when Wendy left took over the running for quite a while but when this became a bit too much Carol kindly stepped in and took over the posting so I know I will be leaving everything in good hands.  I have had a great time and enjoyed the many and varied challenges but sometimes life takes over and at the moment I don't have the time to commit to the blog so in fairness to all I've decided to step down. Hopefully I will still find the time to join in with the challenges set by the team so watch this space.

Now onto this weeks topic and my card which is a fairly simple one but I really love this stamp.
The backing paper is from Woodland Fantasy by Peerless Designs, it's funny how we sometimes forget that just because a paper is shown with a topper that we can take it away and use it on it's own. The puppies are coloured with inktense pencils and the sentiment stamp is one I have had for many years and I don't know where I got it from.

Add some embossing with Polkadoodles

Hello all and I'm here with my card for the current challenge over at Polkadoodles which this time is Add Some Embossing. I have used Serenity Butterfly from the Serenity Wishes bundle but she is also available on her own here.

My embossing is made using a corner embossing folder from Tattered Lace, the die cut edge is from a die by Sue Wilson. I coloured her in using Graph'it and Copic pens with a couple of pencils for the hair.

I hope you can join us and do pop over to the challenge blog as my team mates have come up with stunning makes for your inspiration.

I'm entering this into the following challenges
