Anything Goes with Polkadoodles

Hello there, have you all been busy with your Christmas makes and now want a bit of light relief?  Well over at Polkadoodles this time it's an anything goes challenge to ease you out of the rush of getting everything done and into a new year of challenges. This challenge will run until January 15th so lots of time to add a make or two.

For my make I have used Serenity EarthStar, I have used the pre-coloured image but she would be a dream to colour and is available as part of the collection or on her own as a digi.  The backing paper comes from Work and Play 10 but it works so well with this image you would think it was made for it.

I do have to let you into a little secret, this isn't exactly as I had envisaged but the glitter card was my last piece and I misjudged it when cutting the circle and ended up with a chunk missing so had to cover it with the sparkles but I think it looks ok and don't think you could tell.

Well looking around there are so many Anything Goes challenges that all my choices have the same theme but here goes with the challenges I'm entering my card into.

Traditional Christmas with Polkadoodles

Hello there, it seems like an age since I did a blog post. I have had pc problems, even having to go to pc hospital and who knows where the days have gone but here i am with another post for our challenge over at Polkadoodles.  As it is December it seems appropriate that this time our challenge is a Christmas one, this time it's a traditional Christmas.
For my card I have used one of the pages from the brand new colouring club launched last month by Nikky for those of us who want a bit more from our colouring than for it to sit in a book.  It took me a while to colour this image and I'm glad it's going to be enjoyed as a card for a few weeks.
I have used my Lyra pencils to colour the image and then sprayed it with a fine glitter spray, the sentiment is from the Frosted Winter Collection.

The team have made some stunning things this time and you should go over and have a look if you have the time, and of course join in and maybe win a prize.

Card Mania - Christmas
ABC Challenge - ~W is for Wishes

Autumn Colours at Polkadoodles

Hello all, I'm here with a bit of inspiration for the current challenge over at Polkadoodles.  I have used an image from the Colour Therapy 2 Inspiring Foliage and although not a Christmas image I thought it would work quite well for the season so that is what I did and I'm quite pleased with it.

I have coloured with my Lyra pencils and then sprayed with a glitter spray to give it a luxury look, not that it shows in the picture.

Pop over to the blog and see what my teammates have done, some great ideas for you to see.

A bit of colouring

I've been having a play with my latest addition to my crafty stash, I bought the latest colouring cd from Nikky Hall over at Polkadoodles.  I bought it from C&C because I had a £10 voucher but to be honest if I had paid full price I'd have been more than happy, it's got lots of things I want to colour rather than just a collection of things in a book.

Nikky has also started her colouring club and for not a lot of pennies you can join in or not depending on the images available each month, that's my kind of club cos you're welcome if you want to join in but it's fine if you don't want to.  I haven't completed any of those designs yet so watch this space later in the coming weeks.
I've used my Graph'it markers for this and for the sky I used a couple of Pan Pastels but they don't really show up in this picture.  The ticket sentiment is from Twiggy and Toots, and I think suits this card perfectly.

Challenges entered;
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes

Add some sparkle or bling at Polkadoodles

Good morning, these Fridays' come around so very quickly and I'm here with a brand new challenge over at Polkadoodles.  This time it's add some sparkle, bling or glitter or if the mood takes you all three!

For my project I made a fairly big card using a cutting file from Tina, I had opened an oval frame on my Cameo but squished it down a bit because I wanted a circle in the middle. The card is made up of eight panels and is quite long, I was going to do the full set of images from the Octavia Frosted Winter Collection but thought this was large enough and you would get a good idea of the kind of thing available on the cd/download.

I printed the images in colour but they also come as line drawing for you to do yourself, great to have both options. I then edges all the edges in green glitter, I cut out the holly and edged those edges too, it doesn't look a sparkly in the picture but it was very pretty once finished.

Use a die cut with Polkadoodles

Good morning all, I'm here with a little inspiration for our current challenge over at Polkadoodles. This time is so easy for you because it's use a die cut!  I have used a die i got when I went to the craft show at Doncaster earlier this year, it's a huge A5 die and is a door/window and has an arch top which I've cut off to make my design a square.
My idea was to make a card that looks like you are inside looking out and what should you see coming across the snow but Octavia, she comes from the wonderful Frosted Winter Collection.
I added some stockings and baubles to give a lovely Christmas feel but you could equally use this image for a winter birthday.

Favourite Card Shape with Polkadoodles

Good morning it's time for a brand new challenge over at Polkadoodles and this week it's a favourite card shape.  Now to be honest my all time favourite is a square, they are easy to make and seem to be popular with people who receive them but I decided to go with another favourite and I made an easel card with the twist of it being a round one.
I made this card for the launch of the Octavia  Frosted Winter collection but haven't shared it with you because I was away at the time.  I used a coloured image but printed onto matte photo paper which gives a super rich colour.  I cut the snowflakes out on my Cameo and they are from Festive Hollybobs I think.  I have used lots of glitter and behind the silver ribbon is  little bit of spiders web.  The sparklers in the centre of the flowers are from The Hobby House but lots of people sell them.
Check out the challenge blog and see what the rest of the team have made, hopefully they will inspire you to join us and don't forget there are prizes to be won.

Ribbon and Lace with Digi Choosday

Well I'm back from my jollies and have just noticed a fab discount code on the Digi Choosday blog it is only available for one day but it's a huge 33% so I guess it's well worth a look.
For my card I've used a few different bits from more than one Polkadoodles collection but as you can see they all work well together, the digi is Odella Heart which I've coloured with my new Lyra pencils and I have to say I am in love with these and I'm so glad I invested in them.  The striped paper is from the Winston Collection and the blue from the Octavia Collection.  I have used a little frayed burlap and a little bit of cream lace then added a few flowers and a sentiment.

Shabby Chic with Polkadoodles

Good morning and as it's Friday it's time for a new challenge over at Polkadoodles. This time it's Shabby Chic that has been chosen and sometimes I'm at a loss for what to do for these types of challenges but hopefully I've not made a total mess of this one.

I printed a couple of sheets of DP from the Rosebud Collection and if this is one you've missed then I recommend that you check it out as there are some truly lush papers hiding away within the collection.

I tore one of the sheets and layered together to give a bit of interest and then put this onto the other paper which is printed in the same tones. The die cut is also the same as the backing paper, the sentiment is one I did on the pc and then cut it with the centre of the die.  The lace is some I bought off the internet and the flowers are from Wild Orchid, the flourish is cut from a tattered Lace die and coloured with a Graph'it pen.

Things with Wings at Polkadoodles

Good morning, it's Friday so that must mean it's Polkadoodles time. This challenge started last week so I'm here with a little bit of inspiration for you for our Things with Wings challenge.

I needed a New Home card and of course Twiggy and Toots were perfect for our young couple's first home together.
I was asked for the card with very little notice so I've used a pre coloured image from the collection but if time wasn't pressing then I would have used the digi but it's great to have the choice.

I have used two papers from the collection and I love the way they look together.  The trees were cut out on my Cameo and layered onto the front and the lace is a great match and just a little bit of something extra.

18th Birthday

I was asked to make a card for a friends niece as she is turning 18 later this month. I wasn't given anything to go on about what she likes or doesn't so had to second guess what would be suitable so of course I turned to my trusty Polkadoodles digi's.

This digi is called Serenity Princess and I've coloured her with a mixture of Copic and Graph'it pens, the backing paper is from the Serenity collection and I used a sheet of glitter card to die cut the panel and I used the bits out of the panel for the diamonds on the edges. I stamped and die cut the flower and with a bit of the glitter card that was left over to cut a couple of swirls.

Use Something New with Polkadoodles

Good morning to you all, it's Friday and time for a new challenge over at Polkadoodles.  This week we have the theme of Use Something New, so if you're anything like me then you won't have a problem as we are always buying things aren't we even if it's only a bit of ribbon or lace or a new stamp, I think you get the idea.

For my project I decided to combine my Cameo with the fabulous new cd/download from Polkadoodles - Twiggy and Toots Festive Fun.  There is so much in this collection we are really spoilt for choice but I decided to leave Twiggy and Toots in the tree and I've used one of the digi's because I was really taken with him and he's perfect for an unfussy boys card, this is a perfect image for just a bit of glitter which I used on his nose so it's all red and sparkly.

I used the Cameo to cut out the card blank and the pretty paper, I did take another picture showing how the card stands when opened but it was a bit blurred so I'll try to get another done for you.
